“…like listening to Cramer and Atkins, with a facelift of today’s generation!”

ABOUT THE CONCERT
Floyd Cramer and Chet Atkins. Two legends at their instruments, two giants in the music industry.
Floyd Cramer’s unique “slip note” piano style was an essential part of countless country, pop, and rock hits in the 1950s and ‘60s and is widely regarded as the standard for country piano. Chet Atkins’ innovative thumb-and-two-finger guitar style led him to become known as one of the world’s preeminent guitar virtuosos, and many of the records he produced for RCA have become classics.
Though Floyd and Chet have passed away, their Nashville Legacy lives on through Floyd’s grandson, pianist Jason Coleman, and Chet’s niece, guitarist Meagan Taylor.
In this concert, Jason and Meagan bring new life to the “Nashville Sound” pioneered by their legendary forerunners by playing songs like Floyd’s “Last Date” on piano and Chet’s “Freight Train” on guitar, as well as by singing the music of Patsy Cline, the Everly Brothers and Elvis Presley, all of whose careers were impacted by Floyd and Chet.
“What a rich heritage [Jason and Meagan] have been blessed with. The music was beautifully presented and touchingly nostalgic. Meagan Taylor’s guitar sound is uncanny – I could hear Chet Atkins – [and the] harmonies were killer! And I honestly don’t think [Jason] can improve on the ending playing WITH Floyd – absolutely seamless.”Heritage Hall Theatre, Mountain City, TN
“I have been promoting quality entertainment at the Historic Langdale Theater for 20 years, and Jason and his group are the only act to return to our stage seven times. They have been the most popular presentation of all. The audience will immediately remember and reminisce about the golden years of good music. Everyone who attends a concert featuring these fine young talented musicians will leave thoroughly entertained.”Historic Langdale Theater, Valley, AL
“The buzz is that [Jason and Meagan] were wonderful. . . . While we have given standing ovations, we do not usually do two – one during a performance and then at the end! I had more members ask me, ‘Where did you find them?’”Cincinnati Woman's Club, Cincinnati, OH
“It was our pleasure to host the fine entertainment [Jason and Meagan] brought to Alexander City. Our audience was very receptive and our Arts Council was extremely pleased with the evening. . . . [They] will definitely be invited back!”Alexander City Arts, Alexander City, AL
“They were wonderful, the show was amazing, and they could not have been more gracious. It was like listening to Cramer and Atkins, with a facelift of today’s generation! Loved them.”Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts, Suffolk, VA
